VARIATION IN THE COMPOSITION AND STRUCTURE OF NATURAL LOWLAND FORESTS AT BODOGOL, GUNUNG GEDE PANGRANGO NATIONAL PARK, WEST JAVA, INDONESIA

An analysis of the composition and structure lowland natural forests was carried out in Bodogol, Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park (GGPNP). The two study plots (P1CS P2CS) were located on Cisuren one plot (P3CP) Cipadaranten hill. We recorded 107 species 48 families with an average basal area 19.73 m2/ha, density 348 trees/ha. richness poorer than those typical rainforests Kalimantan Sumatra but comparable to montane Java. IUCN-Red Listed Castanopsis argentea tungurrut (critical) Saurauia bracteosa (vulnerable). Based dominant species, can be designated as Maesopsis eminii-Syzygium acuminatissimum association Syzygium acuminatissimum-Lithocarpus korthalsii association. eminii P1CS (IV= 56.46%) P3CP (IV=55.94%), while P2CS 43.67%). a strongly aggressive invasive that endangered purity forest GGPNP, therefore, it must eradicated. Vertically, consisted four strata, had three strata. This one-hectare considered minimal reflect floristic representation submontane forest.
